Run the cycle two or three more times, holding the speaker downwards. If the sound is still muffled after that, the water may be deeper inside the device than the speaker opening, and no amount of sound will reach it. At that point the device needs to dry out or be looked at professionally.
Speaker is the one you want in most cases — it drives the loudspeaker at the bottom of the phone. Use Earpiece for the small speaker at the top you hold to your ear, Microphone for dust around the microphone port, and Deep Clean when a normal cycle has not been enough. Custom lets you choose any frequency from 20 Hz to 20 kHz yourself.
The app plays sound through the speaker at a level the device already supports. It cannot drive the hardware beyond its own limits. Volume is reduced automatically when headphones are connected, and it ramps up smoothly rather than starting at full power.
No. ClearWave ejects water sitting in the speaker opening. It cannot fix a speaker that is already damaged, and it is not a substitute for professional service if the device has taken a serious soaking.
No. Every feature is free, there are no ads, and nothing is locked. The tips inside the app are entirely voluntary and unlock no content or functionality.
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple or Google — we never see your payment details and cannot process a refund ourselves. Contact Apple Support or Google Play Support. If something looks wrong on our side, email us with the date and amount and we will help you chase it.
Open Settings from the gear icon in the top right, then App Language. English, Russian and Uzbek are available.
Safety. Do not hold the phone against your ear while a cleaning cycle is playing. The tones are loud by design. If you use headphones, take them off first — the app limits the volume when it detects them, but the safest thing is not to wear them.
